Chateau Hommes
A semi-detached stone cottage, on one side of a vast square courtyard attached to a 15th century manor house. Carefully restored to a high standard, many original features are retained, including beamed ceilings and stone fireplace. This is ideal walking country and the area offers a wealth of culture and history with its Chateaux, museums and interesting old towns. The nearby Chateau at Villandry on the other bank of the river Loire is famous for its ornamental vegetable gardens. There are two other holiday cottages on the property and evening meals are available at the owner's guest house across the large courtyard (see main picture above). Parents of young children should note that there is a moat (with water) 30m across the courtyard.
